S&S Express of Evansville, Indiana was started in 1955 by D. E. Smith, running approximately 2-4 trucks. The company is now managed by Smith’s son, J. A. Smith, also known as Smitty. They run 17 tractors with 112 trailers, hauling LTL freight as well as straight truck loads. S&S Express is celebrating their 55th year of operations. When traveling in the Evansville, Indiana area, you will see “Welcome to Evansville” and “Feel the Pride Come Alive” on the side of their trailers.
